Of Dragon Descent

Genre(s): Action ~ Adventure
Summary: The world of Pokemon, 50 years after the time of Ash. The world of Pokemon Trainers & Masters is more advanced, and we follow the trail of a mysterious trainer known only as Draco. Strange glances and scattered memories follow him as he pays a visit to Olivine City, idly remembering the events that occured. And he meets someone else who also remembers them.
About: I've been a writer for a long time, and this was my first fiction I've published since I decided to stop lurking in the world of furries. I got the idea from some Dungeons & Dragons games I've played with friends, trying to establish some Pokemon rules for it. I had a neato character idea once, and I adapted him into Draco. The story is kind of at a stopping point right now as I do other projects, but I intend to continue it sometime in the future.
Rating: PG-13 for violence and language

Choice Reviews: Tantrum, FanFiction:
Hey Scy, Kool_Kubone here... This story is cool, though the cool trainer thing has been done alot, I always like it... The Charmeleon thing was pretty sad, but cool at the same thing... kinda reminded me of a Sephiroth like personality... Keep writing, I look forward to more

The Heart's Cure

Pages: 9 ~ Words: 3764

Genre(s): Romance ~ Horror
Summary: The scientists who lived the first test of Mew DNA - the creation of Mewtwo - fixed up their procedures. They instead use a donated adolescent Ponyta and inject her with Mew's DNA straight-forward, altering her permanent. After months of observation, she's released into the wild, and journies under much sadness and discrimination. But the kind heart of one Raichu can change her for the better...
About: I wrote this even faster than AFU, done in under 4 days with 1 overnight binge. Why did I do this? It was for the birthday of a close friend, Strife767, the Raichu in the fic. I wrote about his character and Andromeda, his real-life girlfriend's character. I touched them both, and I'm really glad I did. ^^ They decided not to keep the fic private and have let me show it. There is a yiffy version on the Lemons page.
Rating: PG for minor horror

Well, I've read both this and the NC-17 version, but nonetheless, this story is so damn sweet. Seriously, it's been a while since the last time I came across another romance story that made me go all "Aw..." inside. ^^ You should write more of these things. But this is definitely another to my favorite stories record.

Alex Warlorn, FanFiction:
. . . I'll just say this, this story is original, and doesn't have any petty character bashing that plagues the pokemon stories here. You pay attention to grammar and spelling, and it isn't about saving the world out of the blue. Complete one chapter stories are rare on this site these days.

Act, FanFiction:
I'm not in super-long review mode right now, but I don't think, even if I was, that I could say anything mroe about this. Though it was a bit rushed, it was extremely well-written and just a great story. Good job! Whew!

Strife767, SSBS:
Thanks again for writing such a great story for us, Scy! *huggle* ^,.^

Reznok, DeviantArt:

capcomfreak4life, AFF:

A Spark of Rememberance

Pages: 9 ~ Words: 4140

Genre(s): Action ~ Drama
Summary: Arc the morphic Raichu, in a fight for the memories of his previous life, tries to lock his mind back into focus. It finally works, and slowly, he begins to remember his life, growing up as a science experiment.
About: A request from buddy netsune KuroFeuer, for part of the backstory of his RP character Livewire Arc the Raichu. Both he and I are nice and satisfied with how it came out, and I was happy to write another non-yiffy story. ^^ I need to do more of these.
Rating: PG-13 for minor depictions of suffering and death

Choice Reviews: Maelstorm, AGNPH:
Although it has no sex, I found this story to be nice and entertaining. Something that I really like about the story is the basic structure. One of the foundations, being that of genetic engineering, is both interesting and relatively simple. Despite it being somewhat easy to realize that such a thing would eventually come about, given the story behind Mew and Mewtwo, I like the whole idea of the practice of genetic engineering consistently growing, resulting in many things, particularly the so-called birth of anthropomorphic Pokémon. And, from this, these Pokemorphs, as you call them, eventually find their place within "human society", some becoming mirrors of humans, as can be seen in the example that you've provided. Not only is this realistic, but I also personally find it to be rather creative. Another thing that I took notice of was your portrayal of the scientists. In my experiences, I've come to see that quite a bit of people misunderstand scientists. Their first thoughts of a scientist (with the exception of the cliché "mad scientist") are often one of a person who has no emotions, and is only concerned with their work, that of which is merely work, and nothing more. But here, you've shown what I believe to be a more accurate representation of scientists. Of course, scientists are very professional in their work. However, in the end, all scientists are human (Pokemorphs?), just like the rest of us; they have emotions, they make mistakes, and they sometimes have a bond to their work. Such is what you have essentially inferred in this story. I especially like how you've shown both ends of the spectrum, including the middle. First, you have the original Sandshrew scientist who teases Jolt. Obviously, he's not very nice, and is perhaps a little arrogant. Next, you have the lead scientist, the Porygram2, who has a more neutral attitude, but still feels somewhat of an attachment to his work. Finally, you have the Raichu scientist who ends up releasing Arc, him clearly expressing sympathy and compassion. Although this is but a minor part of the story, it shows your attention to detail, which I find to be exceptionally high, through-and-through. On the other hand, there are a few things that I might suggest. Firstly, I like how you make it clear that Arc, in his present form, is haunted by the memories of his past. However, one thing that I felt was missing is the communication of his desire to remember his past. Yes, you do write about how he wants to remember, he wants to have his memories thoroughly compiled. Yet, I didn't really get an impression of just how badly he wants this. Is he simply curious about it? Does he desperately want to know? Maybe it is something in between? Regardless, I couldn't really get a clear answer. Judging by the intensity of his dreams, I would imagine that he would really want this to be figured out. Having a detailed confirmation of this desire would increase the character detail and thusly increase the reader's bond to the character, I think. On that note, I honestly didn't have nearly as much compassion towards Arc as I think you might have wanted; this is both in his past and present form. I mentioned the majority of the reason for his present form above, but I'd like to touch on his past form. You make it clear that Arc is primarily a more reserved, almost cautious Pokémon, although his mindset changes during certain points. While this is good, I didn't really feel his feelings, so to speak; rather, I was only told them. Perhaps this isn't what you wanted, but I think that the story would be even better if I could relate to and understand Arc's reasons for his actions. For example, in another of your works, Friends to Mates, you do a very good job of describing Raniel's feelings for Ziro. You lay it out in a very effective manner that Raniel loves Ziro very much. Because of this, I can almost put myself in Raniel's position, genuinely feeling what he feels, and, from such, the story is improved all-the-more and really leaves a lasting impression. Might I suggest that you let in a little more omniscience for Arc, and maybe even some other characters, if you'd like. Perhaps then I would be able to better understand Arc's hesitance...maybe I would be able to feel just why Arc's nightmares are as painful as they are. With as detailed of a writer as you, having a description of the feelings from their point-of-view would almost certainly secure this bond. Then again, maybe this wasn't really your intent. I notice that you tend to take a very camera-view stance on this story...perhaps that was part of the effect. But, those are all merely suggestions, nothing more. With all of that said, I would just like to tell you that I really admire a certain trend that I see in some of your stories. I notice that you will take a given official Pokémon story – whether it be from the games, the TV series, the movies, or what have you – and extend upon it, often in a very cool way. These extensions seem to always make sense, be very imaginative, and, with your writing skills, flow very smoothly. Keep it up! ^_^ In the end, I enjoyed this story quite a bit, and I'm sure Kuro is very grateful to have a talented writer like yourself build off of his idea. 8/10............I apologize for the "long" review, but I have my reasons for it appearing that way.

Raichu-Fan, FanFiction:
